Handwoven and Hand Dyed Funky Scarf with Twisted Fringe!
Scarf measures 74″ x 8.5″ wide with fringe.
Technique is called Faux Ikat named after a Japanese Fabric Dye Technique refereed to as Ikat.
First the Yarn is dyed with a paint brush with several alternating colors, after that process the circle of dyed yarn is cut in half, then on one end the threads are cut at different lengths 1/2 to 2″ or there about,
bring the ends to meet and tie onto loom weave and enjoy a lot of fun and cool results.
I take a pound of cotton yarn and measure out in a circle the amount I need for a scarf. I get 6 scarfs and save money passing on the savings to you.
All 6 scarfs are dyed at the same time with the same colors but none are the exact same.
This is Scarf number 3 of 6 I was experimenting and it was warped different on the loom so the placing of colors has changed.
I like the first two better and the other remaining 3 scarfs will be warped just like the first 2.
Don’t get me wrong this is still a very pretty scarf at a great price.
*Recommend hand wash cold water by itself ( may release some color into the water) press water out, do not wring, lay on towel and roll out excess water, lay flat to dry.
May press with damp pressing towel if needed.*
