All of our fiber is from our little herd of angora goats. I shear them myself, then skirt their fleeces send them off to the mill to be made into roving blended with a small amount of natural colored wool to give the fiber some loft. That way the angora has a much better hand and good memory if you like to knit with it. This item is a dark charcoal mohair roving that weighs 4 ounces.
This fiber is from Daisy, one of our rescued angora goats. She and her sister Mazie had lovely fiber but needed care and attention. When they got that, they produced beautiful fleeces… and babies, too. I call the color charcoal, but it is very close to black. This item weighs 4 ounces, is soft and shiny, lovely to spin, felt, knit or weave with. It will develop a lovely halo when hand washed. You can knit, weave or felt with it just as is, blend it with other fibers for spinning, or spin it on its own.
We also have raw fleece and locks. Stay tuned for future listings, or contact me if you have a special request. It is fine to jump the line! Other roving is available as balls, braids or in bulk.
